Leaseweb's dedicated is real but their support is a black hole. Six hours to acknowledge a dead drive. Trade-offs everywhere.
3 Years Stuck With Contabo – Here's What Actually Happened
Ja, Leaseweb is real hardware with real delays. I prefer that to fake hardware with fast excuses. At least you know what you are managing.
So the thread's settled it then? Contabo's VPS is VPS, Hetzner Cloud is KVM, and some "dedicated" tiers everywhere need verification?
Settled as much as anything on a forum settles. The real answer is always "check it yourself and trust no brochure." Same as it was in '94.
I run a bakery website. I understood about half of this. Should I just stay with my shared host?
VPS survivor here. Yes. Stay there until you outgrow it, then move to known VPS with honest labels. Don't buy "dedicated" anything until you know why you need it.
I was productive before Kubernetes and I'm productive without fake servers. Give me a real machine or give me an honest VM. The middle ground is just marketing eating engineering.
One small server, one quiet mind. Mine's a real Kimsufi from OVH, old but honest. I know exactly what it is and what it isn't.
Kimsufi is a good example, ja. OVH does not pretend these are premium. You get what you pay for, clearly labelled. This transparency is rare and valuable.
Electronics tech here. The 350 GB disk thing still bothers me. Even if it's a 750 split, the wear leveling would show strange patterns in smartctl. Anyone actually pulled SMART from one of these "dedicated" Contabo boxes?
