Contabo. I run 52 boxes and three of them are with those guys. $2.50/mo for 1GB RAM and they never oversold the node I am on. Yabs came back 780MB/s disk and 600Mbit network. Not amazing but stable stable stable.
Comparison:
- RackNerd same price: 400MB/s disk, network bursts then dies
- Hetzner: better specs on paper, downtime every other month
Contabo never makes the front page. Their control panel looks like 2009. But the numbers work. $/GB/RAM they are middle of pack but $/reliability they crush it.

KnownHost checks out on my end too. Two years of monitoring, 99.97% measured from three external pollers. The graphs don't lie.
Their status page is just a raw nginx directory listing with text files. No RSS, no webhooks. Alert fatigue from my own monitors because they do kernel patches without notice, then reboot in under 90 seconds. The uptime survives but my pager hates them.
For underrated: OVHcloud. 99.94% over 18 months, but they publish *detailed* postmortems. Status page with real data — https://status.ovhcloud.com. The transparency makes up for the three nines instead of four.
436 days. reboot is surrender.

Provider rep calling his own shop underrated. Here we go again
At least he admitted the march outage. Half the reps here would blame "upstream" for a cable they tripped over

I think forum reputation lags reality by about a year. The hosts getting praised today were probably good two years ago. By the time they are "famous" the overselling has started.
I use Hostinger in Singapore. Barely mentioned here. Ryzen 5 3600 dedi, Geekbench 6 single around 1800, 900Mbit to Japan. They answer tickets in six hours. Not fast, but correct.
Asia-Pacific location matters more to me than brand recognition.

Back when I started, you traced routes, you asked in IRC, you waited a month to see if a provider's first customers started screaming. No shortcuts.
The forum hype is a lagging indicator, as Kenji noted. Mark my words, half the shops praised in this thread will be dead or degraded within eighteen months. That is the lifecycle. The underrated ones today are tomorrow's oversold disasters. The only protection is your own monitoring, your own backups, and the willingness to migrate when the graphs turn.
Contabo has been around since 2019. That is ancient in this market. They will outlast the flashier names.
