This. We've seen ARIN reject recovery on brokered legacy space because the original holder technically abandoned it before the sale "completed" in ARIN's eyes.
Original allocation is gold standard for recovery. Anything with a transfer in history gets scrutinized hard.

Didn't realize I had that advantage going in. Pure ignorance on my part, thought the estate angle was the key.

Same. Rotterdam, networks mostly, and this thread has better ARIN recovery detail than anything official.
Retired ISP guy here to say: this is exactly how institutional knowledge gets lost. ARIN doesn't document the edge cases well, forums do.

Which is why I automate my automations but still read forums. The edge cases live here.
Lisbon here. Self-hosting badly as usual. This thread made me check my RIPE allocation, still valid, still paying. No recovery path for me.
