In Japan the "green" label is regulated by law since 2022. Hostinger's Japanese site still says "carbon neutral" in translation last I checked. Different legal risk, same claim. Someone should flag that.

Datenschutz perspective: your customers have a right to know what was done with their money. The broker took Hostinger's payment, Hostinger took customer payments. Chain of responsibility. "Fair" is disclosure, not delay.

Has anyone checked if the broker is still operating? If Lee won't name, maybe we can match the description. "Small, hungry, cheap certificates, wind farm in Turkey." That's enough to narrow.
I found the archived Hostinger page from May via Wayback. The wind farm named "Esenboğa Renewable Energy." No registry number listed. The name alone means nothing without Verra or Gold Standard ID.

I searched that. No Verra listing. No Gold Standard. One Turkish company registry entry, dissolved 2022. The broker sold Hostinger a certificate for a dissolved company. That's not optimistic, that's fraud.

You bought from a broker with no registry requirement, no due diligence, no verification. "Got took" implies bad luck. This was bad process. The distinction matters for customers deciding whether your process is fixed.
Thread drift but relevant: has anyone used GreenGeeks? They buy 3x renewable energy credits. Real credits or same broker problem?

Back on topic: I compared Hostinger's current "journey" page to their 2021 annual report. The 2021 report mentions "carbon neutral hosting" as a competitive advantage. The annual report is still live. Contradiction with the new cautious language.
