So the pattern: real names, fake projects, no registry. Classic carbon credit fraud template. Hostinger was either negligent or didn't care which.

That angle is the only one that matters legally. Misrepresentation inducing contract. UK Consumer Rights Act, EU directives, similar elsewhere. Hostinger's "no hard feelings" doesn't discharge liability.

I archived the current "journey" page and the May page. Also the annual report SeekWoot found. Timeline is documented. For whatever that's worth.

Worth plenty if regulators or a class action ever moves. Which they won't. These things die in forums.

Not always. The Dutch ACM fined a host for greenwashing in 2022. Small fine, but precedent. Hostinger has Dutch customers.
