Be careful with chargeback on hosting. They'll terminate your account and all data immediately, no grace period. I've seen it happen on LET forums. Make sure your backups are solid before you go nuclear.

This. So much this. I don't care about your billing dispute, I care that you said "I have" and then listed CSV exports and bandwidth measurements. Where's "I have tested a restore"? Hostinger's Cloud VPS snapshot restore is not instant, it's queued. Test it.

Fair point. I tested snapshot restore to a new instance last month, took 23 minutes for 80 GB. Verified boot and data integrity. Happy now?

Running CS 1.6 servers since 2003 and I've used everything from Ev1Servers to modern cloud. The only billing I ever trusted was monthly prepaid with no overages. Hostinger's model would have killed my community in 2005 when we had no money. Today I use Hetzner for game servers — https://www.hetzner.com, fixed cost, no surprises.

This is why I keep a small Vultr instance for experiments. They bill by the hour, you see the burn rate in real time, you destroy before it hurts. Hostinger's quarterly thing with mystery maths is the opposite of that philosophy.

Following this thread. Has anyone actually had Hostinger explain one of these line items in writing? Like a support reply that decodes "compute adjustment factor"?

I went back through my Hostinger invoices from 2023. No "compute adjustment factor" at all. This line item first appeared January 2024. So it's new, not something everyone has always lived with.

Useful data point. My first invoice with it was February 2024. So sometime between Jan and Feb they turned on this "feature" without announcement. That explains why older forum threads don't mention it.
