Hostinger billing is confusing, anyone else?

They charge weekend downtime as uptime too

Contabo's SLA is credit-on-request, not automatic. Different thing entirely. Hostinger's terms say 99.9% uptime but good luck getting a credit without three rounds of "please provide traceroute." I've been through it.

Liam_funky, did you ever get a response on ticket #44812? Three weeks is past their stated 24-hour SLA for Cloud VPS.

Still nothing beyond the auto-acknowledgement. I opened a second ticket referencing the first, got merged back into #44812 by their system, still silence. I'm documenting everything for a chargeback if Q4 is another surprise.

I'm also in Vancouver, liam_funky — which DC are you hitting? I get routed through Seattle to Phoenix usually, occasionally Singapore if BGP is having a mood. The Singapore hop might explain egress reconciliation if they're billing you for inter-DC transfer you didn't request.

Vilnius for provisioning, but my traffic exits through London according to traceroute. The "egress reconciliation" line item has no destination attached, just a dollar amount. Your inter-DC theory is plausible but unverifiable without transparency.

This is common. Hostinger own ASN 47583, they announce from multiple points. Your VM lives in Vilnius but anycast pushes traffic out London for European eyeballs. The "egress" charge might be the delta between their internal cost to backhaul Vilnius-London and what they budgeted. Still should be disclosed.

Perth here. I read this thread because I'm considering Hostinger Cloud VPS for a project. The hardware numbers are genuinely impressive but this billing thread is giving me pause. Is there any provider that offers this performance tier with transparent metered billing instead of reconciliation voodoo?

Hetzner Cloud. EUR billing, no mystery line items, you pay for what you provision plus traffic at €1/TB after the included pool. But you're looking at older Epyc hardware, not 7950X3D. Trade-off.

OVHcloud is transparent in the sense that you know you'll be confused, but at least it's consistent confusion. Their billing portal actually shows the formula. Hostinger's doesn't, which is worse.

I resell Hostinger to clients in Jakarta. The local DC is good for latency but I have to pad quotes by 15% because I never know the actual monthly cost. My clients are small businesses, they hate variance. I'm considering moving them to local provider Biznet or international with fixed pricing.

Biznet VPS is double the price for quarter the performance. I tried them for a semester project, cancelled after a month. Hostinger Jakarta hardware is legit, just the billing is nightmare.
