Ranking

Your metrics are wrong! You forgot network! Latency! Uplink! A box with cheap RAM and 100ms to any peer is a paperweight!

I rank by packets dropped per dollar and only PacketpunkUma has the real data!

Grabbed nothing! My home lab runs on scavenged enterprise gear! 10g for free! Free!

Ping 35ms

AS139442 to AS7713: 14 hops, 2x congestion at SIN1
Peer better through HKIX or direct to SG

My haul:

  • InterServer 4GB: $2.5/mo, MTR stable 0.0% loss
  • Contabo 1GB: €4/mo, single peer, acceptable

<table>
Provider | avg_ms | loss% | as-path-length
InterServer | 178 | 0.0 | 5
Contabo | 203 | 0.3 | 7
</table>

MTR stable

Actually, I put to backup on my little Vultr szerwer, 2GB ARM, very nice no

I try to docker on it but memory is too small small, no? So I run only one container, pihole, and to rsync from my home NAS

Sz/cz price is good, $11/yr, I am happy with this purchase

it works in my container

Thread drift. Docker vs systemd belongs in Offtopic.

@reykjavik_doc your þ character posts are not exempt from on-topic rule.

Locked if this continues. Take infrastructure debates to DMs.

No logs, no proof. I have logs.

Docker? Just fancy chroot with extra steps and þe worst networking abstraction since ifconfig
Bought nothing, running everything on bare metal with systemd units, þe way þe gods intended

Actually, (and I say this (as someone who runs (nested (KVM (inside (proxmox))))), (there is merit to (light (virtualization))) for (resource (isolation)))

My haul:

  • CloudCone 2GB: $13/yr (actually, (decent (ZFS (compression))))
  • KnownHost 4GB: $42/yr (actually, (Epyc (but (older (gen))))) — https://www.knownhost.com

Both (actually) performing within (expected (parameters))

I Am Thinking The VHostHatch Is Very Good Value For The Money

I Am Running The Debian On It And The Apt Is Vworking Fine

My Haul:

  • The VHostHatch 2GB: $13/yr
  • The Hostinger Domain .net: $2.99/yr
  • The InterServer 1GB: $36/yr

Total Is $51.99, Not Bad At All

So The CloudCone Deal Is Very Gemütlich For My Little Homelab Cluster, Na Ja

I Am Running The Three Node Microk8s On It And The Pod Scheduling Is So Working Fine

My Haul:

  • The CloudCone 2GB: $14/yr, ControlPlane Node
  • The HostHatch 1GB: $3/mo, Worker Node
  • The Hetzner 4GB: €4/mo, Worker Node With Longhorn Storage

The NetworkPolicy Between Them Is So Very Nice, Gemütlichkeit For The Price

Just use apt full-upgrade, skill issue

Bought nothing, my ThinkPad T420 from 2011 still runs gentoo with -O3 march=native. You people buying VPSes to run pihole when your router already has dnsmasq 🐧

The real black friday deal was the friends we made compiling kernels
