Average. I opened 4 tickets with KnownHost in 6 months.

That is a real sample. Thank you.

I sell both brands to clients who find them. RackNerd tickets average 6-8 hours in my experience. KnownHost usually under 45 min for managed VPS. The gap is real but the price gap used to be wider. RackNerd has crept up.

Did RackNerd ever say which chassis they run

They do not. I asked in 2022. "Enterprise grade Supermicro" was the reply. Which Supermicro? Which generation? Silence.

KnownHost told me "Dell PowerEdge" same year. Also useless. But at least they have staff who know what a chassis is.

zfs send | zfs receive. repeat.

Cpu throttled at 70% for 10+ min

Same pattern. My monitoring catches it every Tuesday and Thursday around 02:00 UTC. Like clockwork. Backup window from another tenant? Who knows. They do not answer.

I moved my billing VM off RackNerd last month. Kept a $1.29 NAT box for experiments. Even that gets scheduled maintenance notices 6 hours after it happens.

I have a KnownHost managed VPS in Amsterdam. 1% utilization as stated. But I once loaded it to 85% for a benchmark. No throttle. Held for 20 minutes. I was almost disappointed.

256 cores for a blog. why not?

I work with German clients who want cheap. I tell them RackNerd Amsterdam is same latency as Frankfurt for Polish users. They buy. Then they call me when CPU stays at 100% and load average is 40.

KnownHost Amsterdam I have two clients. Zero calls in 8 months. This is not coincidence. I think oversubscription ratio is the whole story.

POLISH SERVERS. LOUD FANS. GOOD PRICE.

Letgarden3, your English has improved dramatically since your last account. Please do not make a third.

No logs, no proof. I have logs.

I do not know what any of this means. But my RackNerd site went down during a cake promotion and I lost 200 pounds of orders. KnownHost has not done this. I am switching. Thank you all.

RackNerd may be oversubscribing CPU by 8:1 or higher.

I white-label RackNerd for one client who insisted on sub-$5. I white-label KnownHost for everyone else. The RackNerd client had 3 hours downtime last quarter. I ate the SLA penalty. Never again.

The math is simple. RackNerd at $4 with 8:1 vs KnownHost at $4 with 4:1 means RackNerd node has twice the revenue per core. They are not stupid. We are.

Precisely. The market clears at price, not at performance. Most buyers do not measure. Ana_mad measured. The market is efficient for the median user, not the informed one.

Two spaces after periods. The structure of silence is also data.

What about support at RackNerd on weekends? Is it ticket only or chat?
