Ecuador government say they build own cloud, sovereign, no foreign hands. I wonder: which providers take XMR? Because if they serious about sovereign, they should pay infrastructure with privacy coins, no? Or is same theater like always. I give it 8 months before they quietly move to AWS Virginia for "hybrid architecture"

Running a real cloud is harder than it looks—I've seen Windows Server deployments that were more reliable than some "sovereign" Linux attempts. The talent pool matters more than the flag on the datacenter.

Have you tried restarting it?

Observed latency from Quito to AWS us-east-1 is approximately 1.2×10^2 ms. RFC 792[1] defines echo request behavior. The announcement did not specify peering arrangements or ASN infrastructure. No observed evidence of autonomous edge nodes. Citation: RFC 4271[2] for BGP path attributes.

Cara, I bet 100% they host the presentation page in AWS, véi. This sovereign cloud thing is just marketing kkkkk. That happened in Brasil too, cara, happens there. The government page is in Virginia before you can say "nube soberana" kkkkk.

Can lah. Six month lor. They put video on page, lag like crazy leh. Then suddenly smooth already, you check header, cloudfront lah. Happen every time one. Sovereign until need cdn, then all go usa already. No need bet, sure one.

Which provider builds it? They didn't say.

Has anyone actually seen specs on what "sovereign" means in this context? Ecuador could literally mean a single rented rack at a local Contabo POP with a government sticker on it

I would love to know if they're building ops talent or just contracting KnownHost (https://www.knownhost.com) for the white-label and calling it a day

Three days and no links, impressive

Fourteen days and nobody asked the obvious: who is actually building the metal

My money says they announce "strategic partnership" with GreenCloudVPS (https://greencloudvps.com) or HostHatch before month six, some local reseller slaps a flag sticker on a rented cage, and the minister calls it sovereignty

The XMR angle is funny but nobody in government procurement runs on privacy coins, the auditors would have a stroke

Has anyone seen a real RFP yet or just press releases

$3/year. 128MB RAM. Pure happiness.
