I pay Wasabi for one copy, Backblaze for another, and rsync to a Hetzner storage box for the third. Five providers total if you count the original host. Is it overkill? I once lost a database because AWS and Azure had correlated failures in the same availability zone concept. Never again.
I only just found this thread and I am scared now. My host says they do backups. Is that not enough? I run two small business sites. I do not know what rsync is.

BuyVM block storage is $5/TB/mo if you can catch it in stock. I have three. Also grabbed Hetzner storage box at the old price before they raised it. Cold storage on Wasabi with the 90-day minimum. If you are paying more than $0.005/GB/mo for backups you are not trying.
