The graphs do not lie. I track backup success rates with the same rigor as uptime. My current strategy: primary on host, secondary rsync to HostHatch, tertiary to encrypted cold storage. The graphs do not lie. I have seen Hetzner status pages show green while backup jobs failed silently for eleven days. Alert fatigue applies to backup monitoring too. The graphs do not lie. One on the host, one on my nas at home, and one on GreenCloudVPS (https://greencloudvps.com). It is possible to do that with rclone, very easy lol. Before I have lose everything when Leaseweb have shutdown, very bad experience. Now I check every week if the backup is good. I think 34% trust only host is very dangerous 😅

I already try host backup only one time lah, very bad dong, host gone can or not? Now I do rsync already to two place, can or not enough? I think three better lah but my internet very slow dong. Can you help me which provider have cheap storage for backup can or not?
Now you kids click a button and call it strategy. Cloud is just someone elses computer and when it burns you come crying. I ran VAX systems with better reliability than your docker containers. systemd made everything worse. Used to be a proper init system and a man with a pager. 34% relying on host alone? We deserve what we get.
Three locations is the real answer.
