Has anyone used Porkbun's grace period? Curious if the $250 is universal or if some registrars are softer.

Porkbun redemption is $120 last I checked. Namecheap varies by TLD, .com is around $200 plus a year. The $250 playersofia hit is high but not an outlier. GoDaddy will absolutely destroy you if you let it slip to auction.

I should have mentioned: the parked ads on day 5 were served from a /24 that geolocated to Virginia. My AAAA record still pointed to my server in Sofia. Dual-stack users got both. Legacy IP users got malware-looking parking pages. The split brain lasted 25 days.

Split brain DNS for a parked domain is a special hell. Some resolvers cache the A, some the AAAA, some both. You can't flush the world's caches.
