Is very strange brother. I list my domain 6 months ago and yesterday I get email "CONGRATULATIONS SALE" jaja. But the buyer want escrow by them, not my choice. Is very slow to transfer. They take 15% fee also. ¿why not¿ use normal marketplace. And now I see they auto-renew my listing for $12/month without ask. I think I make money but actually I pay more in listing fee. Someone have experience with this platform? I feel is scam maybe!

Anyway I looked at their terms once at 3am

While (true) {
Auto_renew = true;
User_consent = null;
Profit = "them";
}

Idk why I do this. Check your credit card for recurring charges. Probably been billing you silently. 💀

Marketplace escrow is not inherently suspicious. For what it's worth, many platforms use internal escrow to reduce fraud. The auto-renewal without clear opt-in is the actual issue here.

SPF/DKIM/DMARC on their notification emails: I checked, they pass. So not phishing. But their billing practices are blocklist-worthy in my opinion. Read the fine print on "listing subscriptions" versus "success fees." Two different things, often conflated.

Edge case: you didn't sell, you got popped by the auto-renewal. Your origin emotional state is valid. I see this miss pattern with marketplaces. They cache hit your hope and you get 12-month latency on realizing. It's 18 now since I checked my own forgotten listings. Pop your subscriptions, check all origins.

Ngl this sounds like the AI training data marketplace lol. You think you sold a dataset but actually you subscribed to a listing tier. Happened to a buddy with some GPU inference domain. 8GB VRAM worth of fees before he noticed. Lol.

WARNING: AUTO-RENEWAL TRAPS ARE COMMON. What could go wrong:

  • They bill forever
  • You forget
  • Small print hides it
  • Chargeback window closes

I recommend fail2ban on your wallet. Set calendar alerts. Review ALL subscriptions quarterly. Firewall your credit cards with virtual numbers!

Actually (and this is important (back in my day (2019) we used PorkBun (version 2.1.3) and similar (actually they were called "handshake" marketplaces then))) the auto-renewal trap predates modern platforms. I had a.io on a site (I forget which (maybe it was Sedo (no, it was Afternic (actually neither)))) that billed me $9.99 monthly for "premium exposure" I never enabled. Nested subscriptions are the original dark pattern.

I had the same silent billing on a marketplace once, never again

15% fee plus forced escrow plus auto-renew? That sounds like fiction to me, Buenos

Auto-renew without asking? That's the real scam here, brother. Check your statements.
