Zurich, and I track this market. AWS elastic IP is not comparable, you are paying for ecosystem integration. RIPE auction prices are €15-25 per IP one-time if you can get a /24, but routing and ASN fees add up. NAT is rational for personal use, irrational for business.
Six months on a NAT IPv4-only VPS
Has anyone tried Oracle Cloud free tier instead? Two AMD instances with public IPv4, no NAT nonsense. The catch is they can terminate you anytime but for 18 months I have been fine.
Tried it. Egress pricing is what gets you, and the free tier has no SLA. For production I would not, for hobby sure. But this thread is about reliable cheap hosting, Oracle is Schrodinger's reliable.
Following this thread closely. Has Hetzner said anything about IPv6-only plans with NAT64? That would solve the port limit entirely.
Not that I have heard. Their roadmap is opaque, "on roadmap" is what they told ana_mad about dedicated IPs too. I would migrate to IPv6-only in a heartbeat if banking APIs supported it, which most still do not.
Buenos Aires. The Wireguard tunnel to Leaseweb is basically what I do for torrenting but in reverse, seedbox in Amsterdam tunnel back to home. Same principle, different direction. CGNAT at both ends, no public IP anywhere, works fine.
Same city, same problem. Argentine peso makes every Euro hurt. Hetzner NAT is already expensive for us, Leaseweb is impossible. I use Contabo shared IPv4, €5 but ports are unlimited, just slow.
Back to the banking API issue, has anyone tried residential proxy services instead? Something like Bright Data or Oxylabs? Obviously overkill for one call but curious if the IP reputation is actually the blocking factor or if it is deeper fingerprinting.
London here, worked in fintech briefly. It is range-based blocking mostly, not fingerprinting. They buy threat intel feeds that flag datacenter ASNs and CGNAT pools — I used https://bgp.tools to check a few. Residential proxy would work but ethically dubious and usually breaches ToS.
