Guys, I found this provider CloudCone doing CLP pricing and wow, margins look tasty. 4TB bw for like $8 equivalent. Any leads on actual quality? My clients asking for SA presence and this could be gold

But I see some threads warning about submarine cable cuts. Is that still a thing in 2026 or old news? Anyone reselling this successfully?

I recieved one test IP, ping from Miami is 180ms which is... okay? Their network page says "direct connectivity to SCL-IX" but I dont know how to verify that.

But 180ms from miami? Siao liao, too slow lor. My test from singapore 280ms leh, go around the world already. Cable cut or not, the route jialat.

Already told my friend dont put game server there, he dont listen. Now his players complain every day. Haiyo.

You put server in santiago you get santiago problems no apostrophes needed for this kind of truth

The server in Santiago is not so bad, why you all complain? So, my VPS from Vultr runs 3 months no problem. Bandwidth is okay, not great, but okay.

Try it yourself before you say black hole. What you expect for this price, magic? I used https://www.vultr.com/pricing/

I say go for it if you need SA presence. Why pay more for same thing?

256 cores for a blog. why not?

My bad, I mean they have CLP pricing option. Server still LA but billing in pesos. Sorry for confusion.

180ms Miami to Santiago is actually not terrible for the distance. Geography is geography. The real question is routing symmetry.

Symmetry or not, 280ms from Singapore is siao. My users in Jakarta also kena same problem. South America too far for Asia lah.

I looked at this for Dubai clients. Routing goes through Europe or through US, never direct. 220ms best case. Not worth unless you have actual users in Chile.

This is what I say. If you need SA presence, you put server in SA. If you need Asia presence, you put in Asia. Simple. Why complain about distance?

256 cores for a blog. why not?
