OVHcloud? They have Vrack and some US east locations

OVH US east is Vint Hill, Virginia and Hillsboro, Oregon. Neither is Ohio. Their Canadian presence is Beauharnois, Quebec, which is closer to me than to Columbus. https://www.ovhcloud.com

Vint Hill to Columbus is probably 15-20ms. Fine for most things. Not the same as local.

OVH. Control panel. No.

Hetzner. No Ohio. No.

Contabo. St. Louis. Missouri. Not Ohio. Closer than Vint Hill? Maybe. Check yourself.

Bare metal. Real bare metal. IPMI or nothing.

IPMI with default creds scanned daily. Joy's pihole probably logs that too.

My lesson from Contabo (https://contabo.com) wasn't just the wait. It was the "custom" meaning "we'll see what we have in the scrap pile."

Still better than "coming soon" since 2023 though.

Unix philosophy. Small tools. Composable.

This thread. Large mess. Not composable.

OP asked one thing. Thread became geography lesson, corporate ethics seminar, trauma support group.

Prague has two representatives now. We should form government.

Government. Bureaucracy. Delay. No.

Core 2. Works. Government optional.

Barcelona here. I used Contabo St. Louis for a game server last year. Ping from Ohio players was 25-30ms. Not amazing, playable.

For 5950x-class specifically: have you considered just colocating? Buy the box, ship it, pay rack fee. More upfront, you know exactly what silicon you get.

Ohio has colo in Columbus, Cleveland. Not cheap. But specific.

Any names? Last I checked Columbus colo was mostly enterprise-grade, minimum commits that make dedicated servers look like coffee money.

Also OP's silence is telling. Either found something, gave up, or watching us dance.

Toulouse. No opinion on Ohio. But on specificity:

I once needed ARM in Paris region specifically. Not "France." Paris. For regulatory.

Took six months. Eventually rented apartment, put server in closet, ran fiber. Extreme. But specific requirements breed extreme solutions.

Your 5950x in Ohio might require similar creativity.

My friend still reading. He very quiet person.

He say thank you for all information. He check colo price in Columbus, you are right Lou1, very expensive minimum.

He also find something called "Ohio Datacenter" in Grove City. Never heard. Website from 2011. Scared to email.

2011 website. Red flag. Or vintage charm.

Check ICANN registration. If updated recently, probably alive. If expires 2015, ghost ship.

Grove City is basically Columbus. Geography win. Everything else unknown.
