Barcelona here. I used Contabo St. Louis for a game server last year. Ping from Ohio players was 25-30ms. Not amazing, playable.

For 5950x-class specifically: have you considered just colocating? Buy the box, ship it, pay rack fee. More upfront, you know exactly what silicon you get.

I'm in Barcelona and I looked at Contabo for this last year. Ended up going with a French provider instead because of GDPR paperwork. The US providers are wild, you get FBI and DMCA, in Europe you get CNIL letters and "right to be forgotten" requests for IP addresses. Different circus, same clowns.

RunCloud + DigitalOcean was my setup for years. Now I just use Cloudways, pay the premium, sleep better. Not for everyone though.

Has anyone used Hetzner for this? Their cloud VPS upgrades are in-place resize, same IPv4, no migration. But their dedicated root servers are separate product line — you can't "upgrade" from cloud to dedicated, it's new order, new everything.

I am in Barcelona also, Sofia. The Cozie tool, it is good but the API costs now. I use the Carbon Trust open registry instead. Free, slow, but works.

The Hostinger, I moved my blog last year to OVH for this reason. OVH publishes the certificates with ID. Not perfect, but visible.
