Following this. I have customers who want video delivery without subscription platform fees. BunnyCDN + static host is interesting if the tax situation is clean. Bulgaria has straightforward rules for digital goods to EU, but I need to check how CDN receipts factor in.

Which colo in Chicago? I'm pricing a transit project and $35 for 1U+power seems low unless you're in suburban fiber hut. Downtown CHI-2 space runs €45/U for me at last quote, and that's before cross-connect.
Also, 65W idle for E3-1230v5 with two SSDs? You're measuring at the wall or IPMI? My similar box pulls 78W idle measured.
DuPage. Not downtown, not flashy, but 10G wave to 350 Cermak is $200/mo if I needed it. I don't. My customers are regional manufacturing, they care about latency to Rockford not London.

Broooo 2GB per file on shared host origin yikes yikes yikes. One viral tweet and your node is toast. I've seen Hetzner shared nuke accounts for "excessive disk I/O" when some pdf site got hot. Your "static site" is actually CDN+shared, not same thing.

I have Cloudflare in front also lah, not only BunnyCDN. Landing page cached. Origin only for purge. Hetzner see almost nothing. 2 years already, no warning email.
I sell my own course, my own video. No DMCA. ToS I read, "excessive load" they mean CPU, my static site CPU is zero.
This thread is confusing euros and dollars. Hetzner shared is billed in EUR. At today's rate €4 is about $4.40. The "$8" figure from earlier is wrong unless you're on a higher tier.
For France, Hetzner is attractive because no VAT reverse charge headache unlike US providers. I use them for client landing pages, but always with OVH backup DNS. Learned that lesson 2019.

Same here. I keep about thirty client sites, mix of Hetzner shared and VPS. For static sites I actually prefer Hetzner's Storage Share (Nextcloud) with public folder over their web hosting. €3.81 for 100GB, direct link serving. Not officially supported but works.
The real risk with shared isn't performance, it's email reputation. Shared IP blacklisted because neighbor spammed. I route all client mail through Mailgun.
Estonia has decent fiber but I host nothing local. Hetzner Nuremberg ping is 35ms, good enough. I run a few static sites on their €4 plan, mostly project documentation. No revenue, so I cannot compare to Rangga's scale, but uptime has been perfect for 18 months.
One thing: their Falkenstein datacenter had a routing issue last March, not outage but 150ms extra to some Asian carriers for an hour. I monitor with UptimeRobot, caught it. Not complaint-worthy, just data.
I saw that from Bangalore. Airtel path went via Cogent London instead of direct DE-CIX for about 90 minutes. Hetzner status page stayed green, which is typical, they don't post routing quirks.
For my homelab I use their auction servers, not shared. €34 for i7-6700, 64GB, 2x512GB NVMe. Beast. But for work, we are on AWS because procurement requires SOC2. Different world.

Cache invalidation, man. You update one video, purge BunnyCDN, but what about customer browser cache? I had this with digital products in São Paulo. Customer emails "link broken" because Chrome cached 301. Now I version every file: course_v1.mp4, course_v2.mp4. Storage cheap, support tickets expensive.
Also: Hetzner to Brazil is rough. I use Vultr São Paulo origin + Cloudflare for BR customers. Latency matters for conversion.
