Nextcloud for backups. Nextcloud. The thing that has had more CVEs than I have hot dinners. And you're trusting it with your cold storage.
Just use rclone to B2 (https://www.backblaze.com/cloud-storage) or Wasabi directly. Same price tier, actual backup semantics, no PHP in the path.
Wasabi's $7/TB is competitive until you hit their minimums and egress fees. For small operators Hetzner Storage Box at €6/TB with no egress is actually fine.
I run restic to Storage Box, encrypted client-side. Nextcloud never touches my data.
Restic is good. I'll allow this. But only because restic handles the encryption and integrity verification that Hetzner's infrastructure does not guarantee. https://www.hetzner.com
Still think ZFS send/recv to your own box is the only way to truly live.

Cleveland here. I test things properly before I complain about them.
Ran my own negotiation test with InterServer. Mentioned Hostinger's price for similar specs. Their reply: "Our price includes managed support, Hostinger's does not. But we can do 15% on annual if you prepay today."
So the 10% SingaporeRep got is beatable. The "today" pressure is classic sales tactic. I said I'd think about it, they came back next day offering same deal no pressure.
Worth waiting.
Good data point. My 10% was on 2yr prepay, so your 15% annual is actually better flexibility. InterServer's sales seems to have variable pricing based on month or rep.
Their Secaucus datacenter is solid for US East Coast. LA location I've heard mixed reviews.

I tested both. Secaucus: 28ms from Cleveland, clean. LA: 65ms, also clean but the latency is the latency. For my use case East Coast wins.
Their "price lock guarantee" is the real selling point though. Hostinger renews at 3x promo price. InterServer (https://www.interserver.net) stays flat. Over 3 years that beats any first-year discount.

This is the real thread. Everyone focuses on first-year negotiation and ignores renewal pricing. Hostinger's $2.50 becomes $8.99. OVHcloud's promo becomes standard. Hetzner stays flat.
When you calculate TCO over 3 years, the "no discount" provider with stable pricing often wins. Hetzner's 20% off is just bonus on already fair pricing.
Hetzner increased prices once in 2022, I think. Something about energy costs. But they grandfathered existing customers for 6 months, which is more than most.
Their auction servers are the real stable price. Whatever you bid is what you pay until you cancel. No renewal shock.
Sofia here. Hetzner auction is how I started. Old Dell hardware, no SLA, but the price is the price. Got a Xeon E3 with 32GB for €25/month three years ago. Still paying €25.
The catch: if it dies, you migrate. No replacement guarantee. For my game servers that's acceptable risk. For a business, maybe not.
