Last month I see promotion from my bank, they say "free hosting for 12 months" already include in my account package. I think why not, can save money dong. So I register already, give my phone and email. The control panel very slow but I think free is free, can or not?

Then three days later, the spam emails start coming. Not one or two, but hundreds. I check the headers, all using same contact format like the bank form. I already screenshot some, you can see [screenshot1] [screenshot2]. Marketing agencies, web design "offers", even crypto scams. The bank already sell my data, can or not? Never again. Free hosting but expensive privacy.

Actually (and I should know (back in my day (2019) I ran a Postfix 3.4.7 server for a local co-op)) the real issue here is that they are using what looks like a white-label panel from KnownHost (actually the 2019 build, not the newer one). I recognize the CSS. The data resale is probably buried in clause 14.3 of the terms. I ran into this with Hetzner too, though that was actually 2020 (not 2019, my mistake).

True also, but I think this one extra bad because they already have my KYC, my address, everything. Not like random website signup. This is my main bank since 2019.

Slow how? Like cPanel slow, or custom panel slow? My bank in KL tried something similar last year, gave us this LiteSpeed reseller thing that timed out every second click.

Leaked is generous. I'd call it monetised. The KnownHost white-label agreement almost certainly includes data sharing with the brand licensee, which in this case is the bank's digital division. I saw the same CSS in 2019 (actually 2020, confirmed) when I was migrating the co-op off shared hosting. The panel version was v2.1.4, had that distinctive grey sidebar.
