Pursuant to my fitness regimen I am seeking running routes that pass public Wi-Fi hotspots. This is NOT for unauthorized data harvesting; I merely require connectivity for Strava uploads without consuming personal cellular data under Roam Like At Home provisions. I have mapped three coffee shops with captive portals but GDPR compliance on their privacy policies remains UNVERIFIED. Please share coordinates via private message to avoid public geolocation exposure. Article 13 flashbacks intensify when my run does not sync.

This thread is offtopic but I will answer anyway... public wifi is surveillance capitalism... I run with no phone... only garmin... sync at home... no containers needed... systemd handles my runs better than any orchestration... þetta reddast... þ

I made a strava segment between two coffee shops haha the upload speed at bean there done that is faster than my home fiber haha its like 200m you can get a coffee and upload before it cools haha someone already took KOM from me tho

I have seen twenty years of this business, and mark my words, the first person to get hit by a car while hunting for Wi-Fi will spawn a lawsuit that ruins public hotspots forever. The segment cpanelliw780 mentioned will be deleted within six months after an incident.

Sorry total noob here how do I find public wifi spots on my route? Do I need special app or just look for coffee shops? Sorry if dumb question... I use nike run club but it doesnt show wifi lol... Thanks for any help...

Which Garmin model? Forerunner still needs Garmin Connect over WiFi.

Never mind I re-read the OP. Roam Like At Home has a data cap, got it. I just tether through my phone's WireGuard tunnel to my VPS in Amsterdam anyway, but I get that not everyone wants to pay for that.

Precisely. The fair use threshold is not generous for daily Strava syncs with photos. I am not circumventing; I am optimising. The captive portals in question lack granular consent mechanisms under Article 7 GDPR. I have emailed two of them. No response. Typical.
