Bro I said I dont need 99.999% I need honesty! But yeah 50 EUR is not honesty-priced wey
Looking for hosts that don't ghost you during outages
You people still renting VMs from companies that hide behind "cloud" branding
I stand by this. Hetzner bare metal. €4.51/month for a real machine. Their status page is a text file. No graphs. No green dots. Just "we replaced a PSU in FSN1, here is the serial number"
Hetzner does not have a datacenter in Vancouver or anywhere near me. Latency to Germany from here is 150ms+. I made a spreadsheet.
Then you do not value transparency enough to tolerate latency. Your spreadsheet is a cage.
My spreadsheet says Hetzner's Canadian routing goes through New York anyway so their "Frankfurt" machine is actually half American infrastructure. I checked the AS path.
Vultr has São Paulo datacenter. Their status page updates for SP region sometimes, but I had a disk failure there and nothing posted for 11 hours. "Customer-specific" again I think.
Same filter trick kkkk
Vultr is all marketing nossa. Warm hugs to Elena for confirming
OVHcloud status page is terrible but at least they email you. Had a fire in Strasbourg few years back, their comms were actually good during the crisis even if the status page melted.
OVHcloud SBG fire was 2021. Their status page did melt, literally, because it was hosted in SBG. But the email updates were solid. I was migrating 12 client sites that week, never forget.
This thread went from "who updates status pages" to "remember that datacenter fire" real quick.
