Same here. Lost a whole server, actually. "Delivered" to some warehouse in Frankfurt. Never found it. Insurance paid out 60% of value after six months.

Has anyone used World Courier for server shipping? Biotech companies use them for temperature-controlled, maybe they handle fragile customs paperwork too?

To expand: carnet lasts one year, extendable. You need chamber of commerce stamp. Cost is roughly 500 GBP for the document plus security deposit of hardware value. Not worth it for old gear. Sell it, buy there.
