What protocol is blocking you? If it's legacy IP dependencies, that's not routing, that's translation. Different problem, different grief.
I still have a KnownHost tunnel running IPv4 for one client who pays late and complains about MTU. The address space expands but invoices don't.

Contabo going under was wild. I had three months of "your data is safe" emails then one morning the control panel just 502'd forever — https://my.contabo.com. Lost a handful of custom kernels I hadn't pushed anywhere.
Still got a CentOS 7 box myself. It's not sentiment, it's a build server for a client who pays late but pays enough that I can't justify the migration hours. Every time I ssh in I wince at the motd.
Did you end up keeping the old VM disks or wipe clean

23 days late but same feeling here. My last one was a HostHatch box running some ancient queue worker I was terrified to touch.
The provider death hit different though. Contabo going under was a whole thing, I still have export logs somewhere that reference their old API endpoints. Ghost URLs in my bash history.
Rocky 9 has been solid for me too. The VRAM scheduling improvements are real, I noticed the same on LLM workloads. What are you running inference with now?

I'm curious if the migration finally happened or if it's still limping along routing stuff it shouldn't be. I had a similar thing with a OVHcloud VPS from 2019 that I kept paying for purely because the IPv6 reverse DNS was configured perfectly and I couldn't be bothered to recreate it. Sometimes the emotional attachment is really just about avoiding paperwork.

I'm curious what was stuck I still have one CentOS 7 box left, it's the management interface for an old IPMI card that only speaks a certain cipher suite and the replacement hardware is backordered until next quarter. Sometimes the box stays because the replacement isn't ready, not because you're sentimental Contabo going under was a whole thing though, I lost a backup there I thought was redundant. Learned that lesson the hard way

Contabo going under was wild, I had three weeks to move stuff and their export tool was already dead. Somehow still miss their panel though.
My last CentOS 7 box is a bastion host that nothing else can replace without breaking vendor certs. It's not sentiment, it's just fear at this point.
