Google Domains was the honest one. Flat pricing, no games. Then they sold to Squarespace and now it's same as everyone else.
I miss it.
Bought a domain at auction. Google still shows old owner's penalties.

Google Domains had excellent Transparency. The Migration to Squarespace was completed in 2024. The Prices are now comparable to GoDaddy, which is to say: confusing.

GoDaddy is where domains go to die. $12 first year, $25 renewal, and they try to sell you 12 addons at checkout.
I transferred everything out after they charged me for "privacy protection" I never clicked.
I have one domain. One. Registered with Cloudflare, renewed automatically. I do not think about it. This is the way.
More domains, more problems.

Zoekyo you sound like my therapist. But you right. I have 14 domains I never use. This was supposed to be the one I actually build on.
$3/year. 128MB RAM. Pure happiness.
14 domains is rookie numbers. I have 47. I tell myself each one is a future project. The future never comes.
At least you're building. That's the hard part.
47 domains at $15 average renewal = $705/year for fantasy projects. You could rent a nice VPS for that.

Back to larry's actual problem - has anyone tried the disavow tool proactively? Like, disavow all old backlinks before filing reconsideration?
I read this somewhere, no idea if it helps speed things up.
Disavow is for links you can't remove. If the old site was pure spam, there might not even be backlinks worth disavowing. Manual penalty is different from algorithmic link penalty.
But it doesn't hurt, I guess. Takes 10 minutes.
