Why do ARM VPS still feel experimental in 2024?

GreenCloudVPS arm 4GB $12/year still in stock? I check every morning. Istanbul prices higher, bandwidth expensive. GreenCloud better deal if you build patience.

Flash sale only. I grabbed two, friend missed by minutes. Check their telegram, not the site.

Building from source is not pain. It is enlightenment.

I compile Firefox on ARM for fun. Gentoo taught me patience. Arch taught me the fun was fake.

One small server. One quiet build. If the image exists, use it. If not, perhaps you do not need it.

I self-host on ARM in Lisbon. Jellyfin, Nextcloud, Paperless. All had arm64 images last I checked. The experimental feeling comes from trying to run enterprise software on budget silicon. Different problem.

Bringing snacks to this argument. Anyone want chips while we wait for builds?

52 VPS, 8 are ARM. The arm ones cost 30% less, save 30% of nothing because I forget they exist for months. Build failures mean I ssh in, see error, close terminal, check again in spring.

Credit card, phone verify, pray region has capacity. Took me 3 tries. Worth it for 4c/24GB but "free" costs time.

AWS Graviton3 changed my mind. Real performance, real images. But AWS prices mean "experiment" stays in budget category. Production needs production budget.
