Automation does not mean ServiceNow. A cron job + sqlite + a $15 Raspberry Pi can ping you when count drops below threshold. I run this at home, it works.

Same here on the cron idea. I tried Google Sheets with Zapier but Zapier free tier only 100 tasks, hit limit in 3 days. Now I use Airtable + Make.com, 1000 ops free. Good enough for 20 servers.
My 3am death was a Seagate. Replaced with Samsung 870 EVO, no issues 8 months. Shopee got nothing for me, I use Amazon.ca or Memory Express in Calgary. 4 hour drive for Chen, I feel that. Ottawa is not much better for same-day.
Shopee works for me in Manila but only for consumer stuff. Enterprise SSD? Forget it. I use Kimchi or CDW for real parts, 3-5 day ship. My upload speed is 35 Mbps so I cannot even cloud-replicate fast enough to skip local spares.
Single-location DC here means single-location everything. No AWS region closer than Singapore. I keep 1 spare of each disk type, period. Spreadsheet on LibreOffice, backed up to Google Drive because paranoia.

Bro same. My VPS is $3.50/month but I have 7 of them. For home DC I use Tokopedia, same day in Surabaya for some things. SSD no, but cable yes, rack screw yes, thermal paste yes.
For SSD I ask friend in Singapore to buy and ship. Cheaper than local enterprise markup. Inventory system? WhatsApp message to myself with photo of box. Very high tech.
