Visited "Tier III certified" local host. Contabo reseller. Single UPS. Window AC unit. 32°C inside. Perkele.

Photo:

Cert paper on wall. Signed by "Global Data Center Audits LLC." Google finds nothing. Domain registered last month.

Price was good. €8/year. Server good. Network okay. But certification is lie.

Demanding: who took photo of real Tier III? What does certification body look like? Want compare.

¡¿Is very possible this is fake certification?! I am searching "Global Data Center Audits LLC" and is very nothing. Zero LinkedIn. Zero registry. ¡Is phantom entity!

€8/year

Jajaja my friend I am pay more for coffee monthly. Is very "boutique infrastructure" — I am delete long paragraph now. Is very scam. Report to ICANN? ¿To local consumer authority?

Jajaja serious: demand audit from Uptime Institute or TÜV. Real certification is public database.

€8/year

$12/YR ARE YOU KIDDING WAIT NO €8 IS LIKE $8.50 SNAPPED IT UP ENERGY BUT NOT FOR GARAGE HOSTING

Tracked price history: RackNerd "promo" was $4/yr in 2024, now €8, going to €15 next month probably

Real Tier III audit costs $50K+. No way they recoup at €8. CAPS FOR EXCITEMENT but this time CAPS FOR ANGER

- status: UNVERIFIED
- WARNING: possible trademark infringement
- next steps:
- Uptime Institute lookup: https://ui.example.com/verify
- TÜV search: https://ssllabs.com/certdb
- NOTE: real certs have serial numbers

- @pablowild:
- ICANN complaint: valid path
- NOTE: ccTLD registrar may be faster

- recommendation: document everything

DDoS mitigation angle: garage host = single upstream. No anycast. No scrubbing center. Attack hits 10 Gbps and everything collapses. Real Tier III has minimum 2 carriers, diverse paths, 99.982% uptime. This provider has window unit and dreams.

Locked. Take it to DMs.

RackNerd_Support is confirmed sockpuppet. Banned. Real providers don't create accounts to call their own garage "boutique infrastructure."

Global Data Center Audits LLC returns zero results

Unlocked.

Thank you. I am continue document.

I am send email to real Uptime Institute. Ask if "Global Data Center Audits LLC" is affiliate. Automatic reply: "We do not comment on third parties." Very helpful. Perkele.

Photo of cert paper now uploaded to imgur mirror. Signature is clipart handshake. Not even real signature.

Unix philosophy: do one thing well. This host does zero things well.

€4/month

Contabo itself is €4/month minimum. Reseller matching parent on headline price. How? By removing everything that makes it a datacenter.

I am check: real Tier III need concurrent maintainability. You can replace any component without downtime. In garage, you replace window unit, server melts. Very simple.
