Scam or legit? This 'datacenter' is just a garage

Has anyone actually verified the other colo locations? Chicago, London, Tokyo? Or are we assuming VPS is fine but colo is the problem?

Verified

I checked Chicago. Their address resolves to a real building in Elk Grove Village, but I cannot confirm if it is Coresite or a strip mall. I do not live there. Someone local should visit.

The VPS locations are definitely rented infrastructure. This is not suspicious. The colo is suspicious.

if it ain't broke, rust it

I am in Bangalore, their site says "coming soon" for India anyway. But I want to know: did anyone get the $400 back? Chargeback can take 45 days.

Chargeback

Pending. Bank says merchant has 30 days to respond. HostHatch has not responded to my ticket asking for refund. Surprising no one.

I will update when resolved.

Pro tip: if they don't respond to ticket, escalate to your card's dispute team with the photos. I did this for a fake "cloud hosting" in 2019, got provisional credit in 5 days. The photos are evidence of services not as described.

Also CC the state attorney general, California has a form online. They won't act fast but it adds pressure.

What was the latency like from the garage? Just curious if the "1 Gbps fiber" was real fiber or Starlink.
