I just want my server to work and now my domains cost more? Mexico is not rich country. .mx is 400 pesos, .com is already expensive. Maybe I move everything to .mx.
Registry price caps removed, what's your .com strategy?
This.
I run a bakery website and a flower shop site. Servers scare me. My hosting company handles the domain, should I call them? I pay £12/year now for .com through them, worried they will add big markup on top of Verisign increase.
If you're at £12 already that's with markup, raw wholesale is around $10.30. They might absorb first year or might pass through plus extra. Worth asking directly. Or transfer to Cloudflare at cost if you want cheapest, though no phone support — https://www.cloudflare.com.
Has anyone actually seen the new prices yet? My registrar still showing old rates. Is this confirmed happening or speculation?
Verisign wholesale goes up to $10.26 in September 2026, registrars add their margin on top. Some are pre-emptively raising, some are pushing multi-year renewals now while old rates hold. Not speculation, contract terms are public. Check Namecheap blog or ICANN site.
