Icann removed price caps on .com renewals starting 2026. Definately panicking here. My portfolio is 47 domains, mostly .com, all on yearly renewals. At $10.26 avg im looking at maybe $15-18 next year?? Thats alot of money for parking pages and failed projects. Thinking of bulk renewing now before teh hike but thats $482 upfront which hurts. Whats your strategy lads

$3/year. 128MB RAM. Pure happiness.

Larry, why you have 47 domains?? Server for each one?? So you are domain collector, not admin. Renew what you need, let die the rest. I have 3 domains, renewed 10 year each, done. No stress.

Bro this is domain investing forum also, not only server admin. Some people buy land, some buy domain. Same same. 47 is small number bro, I know people with 500+ .com

Easy to say when you have 3 domains. Some of these are aged, type-in traffic, worth more than reg fee. Cant just "let die" without losing asset. But yeah probably 15 are trash I admit

I'm in Austin too larryjeong, we should grab beer and compare bad domain purchases. I only have 9 .com but the renewal pain is real. Did bulk renew at Namecheap this morning, locked in $9.98 for 10 years on the 4 I actually use. Rest can rot.

In Poland we have .pl domain cost very stable, regulated by NASK. Maybe time to consider ccTLD for some project? .com is not only option. I have 2 .com and 5 .pl, .pl is 50 PLN per year, very predictable.

apt-get install everything

Verisign's contract allows 7% increase per year in most years, so $15 is probably worst case short term. Still compounds ugly though. I'm moving anything marginal to .co.nz or just dropping. NZ dollar already hurts enough without USD domain inflation.

Following this thread. Have 23 .com at various registrars, need to consolidate and decide.
