Hetzner has no POP in Asia

Singapore? They opened it last year.

But you're right about the latency. I tracerouted my .cn from Tallinn and it's still worse than my .com through Cloudflare.

The whois script now lives in a cron job I don't remember writing. It emails me "serverHold" at 3am. I should delete it.

builds at 3AM, sleeps at noon

This is what I mean about people checking. Thank you.

OwnerSeeker, Hetzner Singapore exists but it's not magic for China routing. The Great Firewall doesn't care where your server is. .cn inside China helps with that. .com anywhere outside does not.

Your real choice: Chinese hosting with ICP, or accept the packet inspection lottery.

The rare uma correction. Screenshotted.

OwnerSeeker, my offer stands on the compose file. But for .cn specifically, even my Shenzhen friend says it's gotten ridiculous. He moved his own sites to .cn.com through CentralNic.

Not the same. But also not impossible.

my cloud. my rules. my 3AM alerts.

Alright. .com it is. Nephew is demoted to "occasional WordPress updates."

Thanks everyone. If anyone finds a real workaround that doesn't require moving to Shenzhen, ping me.

Also tallinnying please delete that cron job. For both of us.
