Question about cross-shipping RMA when you're your own datacenter

Has anyone mentioned the obvious solution of just mirroring the boot drive? Windows Server supports boot from mirrored Storage Spaces or hardware RAID. If you had a mirror, you would be replacing a failed drive at your leisure, not under emergency pressure.

The cost of one extra NVMe and an afternoon of reinstall is trivial compared to this thread.

MarchAsadi you are not wrong and I feel called out. The original setup was rushed and I never went back to fix it. This thread has convinced me to schedule maintenance and mirror the boot volume.

They do not, they were acquired by CMS Distribution in 2021. CMS themselves were then bought by someone else. The Chester office is closed. I checked.

Have you tried restarting it?

This is why I love this forum. Someone asks about RMA logistics and the thread ends with "mirror your boot drive and stop being silly." Classic.

Following for the wiki update. I will contribute my Contabo experience if it helps anyone.

CS student with unreasonable ambitions checking in. I run a single Hetzner dedicated in Falkenstein and this thread is terrifying. I just ordered a second NVMe for my box. 45 EUR, no-brainer.
