is the real takeaway. Most shops bill portal-to-resolution, not active work. Stuck GRUB at 3AM becomes two business days of back-and-forth before anyone touches the machine. Your 4.2 hours is probably 12 if you're unlucky.

Real talk: that 4.2 assumes you catch the incident fast. My last stuck grub sat there for six hours before monitoring even yelled. IPMI lets you *see* the POST, not just guess from outside.

Contabo's Singapore presence is solid but their remote hands books out. OVHcloud in SG is faster, still not instant. Discount math never includes the 3AM panic tax.

Anyone actually taken the no-IPMI deal and regretted it? Or found a provider where remote hands is actually included?
