Actually my oldest is Dell R710 from 2009, basically ancient. Still running bind9 and postfix at my friend's garage colo. Power bill is yabai but hardware is daijoubu (´・ω・｀). I also have R720 from 2012, that one is actually "main" server. But R710... I cannot throw away, too much nostalgia. What about minna? Show me your dinosaur!
(this is a safe space, apparently) I still have a PowerEdge 2950 in production; (well, "production" is doing a lot of heavy lifting here) it serves as the serial console server for the rest of the rack; the thing draws 180W idle and sounds like a jet engine; (the jet engine part is almost endearing at this point) it's from 2007, which predates my second marriage; (that lasted longer than the server should have) I keep it because moving 24 serial ports is a pain; (there's a lesson about technical debt in here somewhere; I'm ignoring it). Semicolons; the server and I share an appreciation for them.

Hey folks! Super stoked to see some vintage iron in here I got a DL380 G6 from 2009 running at InterServer, just handles internal monitoring and a legacy cPanel migration tool. Gonna be honest, it's gonna get retired next month because the power draw is brutal and we're all about efficiency now. Made a mistake keeping it this long, admitted it to my team, fixing it fast. That's the way. How's everyone else doing?

I have server from 2011, HP Microsomething. Is thinking still good for pfSense at my parents house. No downtime since 2019, thanks to good SSD. Before was Pentium something, super loud. Now is quiet and they are happy. I think 10+ years is normal for home stuff. In job we replace every 5 years, corporate policy, no choice. But home? If it works, it works.
