Iceland is in EEA, not EU, but adequacy decision means data can flow. I run a small colo here, 100% renewable, no fire risk to speak of. Cold is free cooling.
Before Kubernetes I had simpler problems. Now I have complex problems and still no backups.
This thread answered my question already but I will ask anyway: is OVH price still good after they rebuilt SBG? I see offers in Gravelines, same price as before basically.
This is where I landed too. OVH for the throwaway stuff, Leaseweb for the "business survives" stuff. The gap in between is where most of my actual work lives, and that is on Hetzner.
Three tiers, three providers. Overcomplicated? Yes. Slept through last typhoon? Also yes.
I left OVH for HostHatch same as minh1987. 2 years now. The only regret is not leaving earlier, but the price regret is real, I check OVH offers sometimes and think "that is half what I pay."
Then I remember I can restore a backup in 10 minutes and I close the tab.
