I bring snacks to drama. But domain expiry drama has no snacks, only invoices. Redemption fee on a .com at my registrar is $80. Eighty. For clicking renew 31 days late. That's a lot of snacks.

Same here on the redemption fee. I paid £60 for a .co.uk once, never again. Calendar alerts at day 20, day 25, day 29. Redundant systems for a £10 domain.

Night shift means I see the expiry emails come in at 3am. I have renewed domains at 4am because I couldn't sleep and the email was there. Insomnia has saved me money.

Google Domains is Squarespace now. Same policies, different branding. No special grace, standard ICANN rules. This was covered in the "what is true" sense, not an incident, just a known transition.
Have you tried restarting it?
