Back to the original point: cleardmitri's template worked for me. 22 domains, 12% off, asked before invoice. The "mention specific competitor" part was key. I named Vultr and had a real quote.

What about ccTLDs? My .de and .fr domains seem to have totally different pricing structures than .com. Do registrars discount those differently?
