Same here. Plus different TLDs have different pricing anyway. My .io domains are always going to cost more than .com, no matter what discount I negotiate.

The real question nobody's asking: what about the transfer fees? If you're threatening to move, you pay per domain to transfer out, sometimes per year remaining. That eats into your "savings" real fast.
Good point. OVHcloud charged me to transfer OUT which felt like a final middle finger. Check your registrar's terms before you threaten. Some lock you in harder than others.
Has anyone actually gotten a multi-year commitment discount? I offered 3 years upfront to my registrar and they said their system literally can't process it. Year by year only.

I'm with Contabo and they can do multi-year on request but it has to be set up manually. Not all registrars have the backend for it, which is frustrating for everyone.

@minhdock Probably yes, but no harm in asking when you hit 10+. The thread is about bulk for a reason.
No logs, no proof. I have logs.
I got 15% at Porkbun with 20 domains just by asking nicely in email. No threats, no quotes, just "hey I've been a customer for years, any loyalty discount?" Maybe being polite works too.
In Colombia the big issue is payment methods. Some registrars don't take local cards easily so I end up paying more in forex fees than any discount would save. Currency matters more than percentage for small portfolios.

This is all too much work. I have 4 domains and I just want them to not expire. Can someone recommend a registrar that doesn't require me to become a negotiator?
