Sent ticket yesterday to Contabo, got reply in four hours

Four hours is solid for that price point. I have a €6 VPS in Nuremberg, ticket reply was under two hours but it was afternoon EU time. YMMV on weekends.

Same datacenter! Mine is the €4 storage VPS. For small WordPress sites it is perfect. Phone support would cost more than the server itself, this is the point of the thread I think.

Running inference on a $3/month box would be hilarious and also impossible. But the support math is the same at every scale. I pay $85/month for a GPU instance at Lambda and I still get ticket-only support. Nobody calls about CUDA errors at 3 AM, we paste logs like civilized people.

Lambda

How is Lambda lately? I was on their $600 GPU instance for two months, support was email only but decent. Downgraded to consumer hardware because my projects are stupid and cheap.

$3/year. 128MB RAM. Pure happiness.

I learning server very much. In Vietnam many provider very cheap but support only Facebook chat. Customer angry no phone. I explain same like this thread, they no listen.

What panel do they use? I am looking for cheap WordPress hosting for my uncle's bakery site. He will definitely not call at 3 AM but he will also definitely break something at 2 PM and expect me to fix it for free.

Contabo has custom panel, not cPanel. You get root access on VPS though. For WordPress I just install EasyEngine or use their Web Hosting plan with Plesk if you want click-click. The €4 VPS + manual setup is cheaper but you are the support then.

The diplomatic phrasing in the first reply is gold. I used "email tickets ensure documented resolution" last week and the client actually said "oh that makes sense." First time ever.
