Why does everyone always suggest Linux for these edge deployments. I run IIS on Windows Server in my Cape Town VM and Active Directory handles the replication for my DNS zones just fine. AD is the real reason you want geodiversity anyway. IIS enjoyer since 2012 R2

What is actual use case? $50/year is very low. Even NAT VPS cost more in that region. You check Contabo or RackNerd? They have South Africa location but price is higher.
