Thank you friends for the many advice. HestiaCP I will check but the phone home problem same-same. Maybe I try the ajenti fork that qasimgsm say, compile is ok I have time wkwkwk. But ssh only maybe too hard for my customer if I give them panel access later.
Looking for barebones panel that won't phone home
If you need customer access later, skip the panel entirely. Give them sftp and a one-page status script you write yourself. No daemon, no update check, no RAM eaten.
Or use CloudPanel. German company, runs fine on 1GB, and the telemetry is just a checkbox in settings.
CloudPanel wants 2GB minimum now. They bumped it last year. Check their docs.
I run TinyCP on 768MB in Nairobi. No phone home that I have found. Project is quiet but not dead.
TinyCP homepage still loads? Last I checked the SSL cert was expired three months.
Certificate fixed now. I emailed the dev. Took two days. Small project, small response time.
The river speaks again—TinyCP the forgotten stream—
I tested it once, the memory gentle—
But the updates sparse, the security patches scattered—
For customer access, the risk it is—
For lone server, perhaps it serves—
I tested TinyCP in 2019 on a CentOS 7 box that I had in a basement in Akron and it worked fine then but CentOS is dead now and I moved to Rocky and I don't know if it works there and also my cat Mr. whiskers died last year so I don't test as much as I used to.
This.
