Wasabi is USD billing though. For EU residents Hetzner in EUR is cleaner tax wise.

one small ping for man...

Same here. I am in Barcelona, VAT mess either way but at least Hetzner gives me a proper invoice for the accountant.

This thread went from gift loophole to tax optimization real fast. Singapore tax is simple so I will stay out of that part.

My NAS is older than some of you and it does my backups. Free. Minus electricity. Which in Norfolk is not free anymore.

SPARCstation 20, still serving HTTP

Shed NAS crew checking in. But offsite is offsite. Hetzner bundle is my offsite. I use the VPS for wireguard so it is not wasted.

works on my bench ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Wireguard is actually a good point. I did not think about using the VPS for something. My Django shop does not need it but maybe I run a monitoring node or something. Still feels like eating cost though.

Following. Same boat, signed up for the backup, VPS sits idle.

Idle VPS is a security risk. Patch it or kill it.

From Dakar the latency to Falkenstein is fine for backups. The VPS part I use for a tiny matrix server for family. Bundle works for me.
