Time4VPS only has Vilnius. DPA is standard. Price is 2 EUR for smallest. If your clients want "EU only" and do not care where, why pay 40% more for a flag on a map.
Helsinki VPS for EU privacy compliance—worth the premium?
I escaped shared hosting for a VPS with KnownHost Amsterdam last year. Their DPA took one email. I asked about Finland specifically and support said "we do not have a datacenter there." That was the end of it.

Exactly. The "sounds cold and serious" line my clients give me is aesthetic, not legal. I am going to start asking "do you want compliance or do you want a story to tell auditors." Different budget line items.

Story sells. I have seen RFPs that list "Nordic location preferred" with no justification. Preference is not requirement. Push back, save money.

Self-hosting at OVHcloud Roubaix, 10.99 EUR, same CPU, same SLA. The Helsinki premium is for companies that want to say "Finland" in their annual report. Lyon runs hot in summer, cooling costs a fortune, nobody pays extra for that anymore.
Vultr Osaka here. Same GDPR irrelevance, different ocean. Asian clients ask "is my data in Japan" and I say "Vultr says Osaka" and they are satisfied. Nobody asks "is it Hokkaido or Osaka specifically." The city detail does not matter.

I am new at this. So if I understand, GDPR means any EU country, and the Finland premium is just marketing? I was looking at KnownHost Amsterdam because of this thread.
