Disputing a charge without getting your account nuked

Yeah, four hours flat. Never seen anything like it before or since.

That's hostile even by low-end standards

To be fair, I didn't have much on that box. Test project, couple euros. But the principle stings. These days I keep three months of backups rotated to InterServer regardless of who the primary is. Cheap insurance.

Contabo really was the contrast. Same situation, they fixed it in the ticket. Didn't even need to escalate. Wish that was the norm.

Did anyone here actually get a RackNerd account restored after suspension? Curious if there's a path back or if it's permanent blacklist.

Four hours is rough even for this crowd.

Account suspended within four hours
Did you ever get the data back, or was it a total loss?

I've had decent luck with KnownHost on billing stuff but their ticket speed is glacial. The screenshot habit saved me once when they tried to claim a promo "expired early"

627 days quiet on this thread, maybe everyone learned the hard way already

1ms or I don't want it

693 days and RackNerd still pulls this stunt I bet

Understatement of the decade

Anyone tried Hetzner lately or same trap

Four hours is brutal even for RackNerd

Has anyone tried their new billing portal they announced last year, or is it still the same ticket-black-hole situation

Old thread but still relevant.

Mention prior ticket number in dispute
This is the part I missed with Hetzner last year. Bank asked for documentation, I had screenshots but no ticket reference. Claim dragged six weeks.

Also worth adding: check if your registrar is separate. Lost a domain once because the hosting suspension locked the panel and the WHOIS email bounced. Dumb cascade failure.

Contabo really is the exception. Most low-end places treat dispute as fraud trigger automatically.
