Disputing a charge without getting your account nuked

153 days late but did anyone ever get RackNerd to actually respond to a ticket before the dispute stage

I have a June invoice sitting here that looks identical to Hel's double charge and I would rather not play ban roulette if there is a working escalation path

Contabo at least has a billing email that humans read

Four hours is rough even for this corner of the market.

Did you ever get the actual data back, or was it a total loss? Some providers keep the image around for a grace period even if they terminate service immediately.

I've had decent luck with KnownHost on billing issues but they also ticket-first like clockwork. The "mention prior ticket number in dispute" tip is solid, banks seem to process smoother with that paper trail attached.

204 days late but still relevant. Chargeback culture hasn't changed much.

236 days but this still stings to read.

Four hours. That is not even enough time for the bank to log the dispute in their own system, let alone notify RackNerd properly. Makes me think they were monitoring chargeback alerts in real-time or had some automated kill switch wired to their billing.

I had a similar scare with InterServer once, ticket unanswered for a week, started drafting the dispute letter, and suddenly the ticket got escalated to a human within two hours. Smells like keyword detection on "chargeback" or "dispute" in support threads.

Has anyone actually tested whether naming the dispute explicitly in a ticket speeds up or slows down the response? Always wondered if that triggers the same automation.

245 days late but did anyone ever get RackNerd to unsuspend after a resolved dispute, or is that account just permanently burned

Asking because I have a similar double-charge sitting in my inbox and the ticket's been open six days now

274 days and still no word from RackNerd on this

They never reinstated either, saw Hel on another forum

Contabo really is the outlier here

Most just hit the nuke button

380 days and RackNerd still hasn't changed their playbook.

— saw the same thing twice more in mod queue since this thread died. One user had backups, one didn't.

Contabo and Hostinger seem to be the outliers here. Most of the rest treat any dispute as grounds for instant termination regardless of prior tickets. Your ticket-first-wait-then-document pipeline is basically mandatory now.

Anyone had luck getting reinstated after a dispute? Or is it always ashes.

Four hours was generous compared to what I heard since. Friend got wiped by OVHcloud in ninety minutes. No warning email, just poof.

They all moved the goalposts. Used to be 24-48 hour grace. Now it's automated. Dispute hits processor, webhook fires, account locks. No human checks.

Still with RackNerd on a new account. Separate card, separate email, fake name. Paranoid but alive. Their network is fine if you treat them as disposable.

Contabo remains the exception. Weirdly decent billing team. Almost suspicious.

Anyone tried KnownHost lately? Curious if the mid-range hosts handle this better or just charge more for same script.

Four hours is rough even for RackNerd, they used to wait at least a day

This is the part that actually saved me with InterServer last year, bank sees you tried

Has anyone actually gotten a provider to un-suspend after the dispute is withdrawn? Always wondered if that's myth or real

445 days and RackNerd still hasn't changed their stripes, I bet.

Small addition: include the ticket timestamp too. Banks love timestamps. "Opened #48291 on 14 June at 09:23 UTC" hits different than just a number.

Contabo being the reasonable outlier again. Their support actually reads, or so it seems.

Four hours is wild even for RackNerd

Has anyone tried the "mention ticket in dispute" tip with OVHcloud? Curious if it softens the banhammer or if they just accelerate the countdown

Also re: alternative host ready — is Leaseweb still the goto for hot-swapping DNS without propagation hell, or did that change after their routing mess last year

Sorry for the old thread, this still feels relevant with how many "account suspended" posts I see
