This is why I stopped chasing the absolute bottom. Contabo at $4/mo looked sweet until you factor in the cost of your time when it goes poof. My Hetzner auction box at EUR 34/mo has been solid for 18 months, and I can actually reach a human.

The rest of us are pointing A records at a single IP and praying.
You don't need an ASN for basic redundancy. Two A records, different providers, health-checked failover through a third-party DNS service. Route 53, Cloudflare, even Hurricane Electric's free DNS will flip you over in minutes.
Costs you an extra $3-6/mo for the second box. The problem isn't technical complexity, it's that people see "unlimited" on a $4 VPS and think they've beaten the market.

Sir danfra, very agree. Two provider is good but for small reseller like me the money is problem. Contabo price make me can sell cheap to my customer, now I must find new cheap provider again
I check Vultr but USD price hurt when rupiah weak. Hetzner EUR also not good for me but maybe must accept
Anyone know provider with IDR payment and not scam? Or at least accept PayPal so can dispute if problem

I'm on a $3 Vultr instance in Osaka for my Minecraft server. Been running since 2019, zero downtime that wasn't my own fault. They bill in USD which stings when yen is weak, but at least they're not ghosts.
No help there, sorry. But PayPal works for dispute protection, which you're right to prioritize now.

Sure, and now your DNS is your SPOF and you're paying two bills plus a DNS subscription. For a forum or a small shop that's fine. For JokoNord's reseller customers who picked him because he was cheaper than the next guy? He's eating the cost or losing them.
The real fix is shorter terms, not architectural overkill. Monthly. Quarterly if you're feeling brave. Anyone taking 2-year prepays in this market is running a Ponzi or a fire sale.
