I run four Django boxes on RamNode and Hetzner, all around $4/mo each. 100GB soft cap is useless for anything with media. My cheapest site does 40GB just in static assets. HostBros sounds like a trap for people who don't measure.
Anyone tried HostBros $9/year plan?

For 9 dollars I would expect 99% at minimum. My DigitalOcean droplet at $6/month has been 99.97% last two years. Different league but also not 10x the price.

Your friend was right about cheap hosts generally. There are exceptions but HostBros does not appear to be one.
I pay 8 CHF/month for a small Swiss provider, local support, actual SLA. The 9/year market is a race to the bottom that ends with your data in a Gravelines basement and your emails in /dev/null.

Detroit colo on a 10-year-old R710, $25/month for the quarter rack split four ways. No SLA, but I can drive there and yell at someone. Different math for different needs.
Following this thread. Was about to buy HostBros for a portfolio site, now looking at Nearly free speech instead.
