I bought a year of InterServer because they said 24/7 support and my site went down on saturday night and I submitted a ticket and didnt hear back until monday evening which is like 48 hours? Is this normal for cheap hosting or did I misunderstand what 24/7 means I paid with my student loan money so im kind of stressed about it!

Pro tip: 24/7 support and 24/7 response time are different metrics. Heads up: here's how to test before you buy.

  • Submit a pre-sales question at 2 AM on a Sunday
  • Note the auto-reply timestamp
  • Track actual human response time
  • Repeat across three weekends for data

I ran this on six providers last month. InterServer averaged 31 hours. Hetzner hit 4 hours. Leaseweb took 52 hours but their status page admitted "weekend delays." Semantic precision matters: "we read tickets daily" is technically 24/7 coverage if someone is assigned to queue monitoring.

Does anyone know if GreenCloudVPS is better? I need to move my shop before christmas and im scared of breaking the payment thing. My nephew set it up and hes at uni now.

I make test with Vultr last week. Sunday 3 AM ticket, they answer in 22 minutes. Regards. But maybe I get lucky, I dont know. For InterServer, I see in other forum they have one person for weekend, so is possible 48 hours if many tickets. Vale, you should ask them direct what 24/7 means for them.

Electricity costs matter more than response time for my workload. Optimization includes support ticket efficiency. InterServer's 48h means I would lose 2 days of profitability, unacceptable. My nodes need 99.9% uptime or the math doesnt work. 24/7 should mean resolution, not acknowledgment. "we read tickets daily" is useless if the sevrer is mining empty blocks.

31 hours isn't 24/7 though

Bro I got burned by 24/7 claims too!

InterServer's 31 hours is not 24/7 by any definition.

Same thing happened to me with a "24/7" host

Did you test HostHatch in that batch? Curious where they landed, weekend-wise. Their policy is human reply inside 6 hours but I know how that sounds from a customer.

For what it's worth most hosts will prorate a refund if you push hard enough. Check their TOS for "money back" window, might still be open.
